We began working within the security industry in 2002 shortly after the terrorism attacks in New York and since then, Security and Police Training Knowledge has become more advanced than ever before.
The Security Industry is now regulated by the SIA since 2005 and the legislation Private Security Companies must comply with is the Private Security Industry Act 2001 and Licensing Act 2003.
Licensed Security Operatives have more advanced training than before and some skills are identical to police training. Since April 2021 new training has been implemented across the UK to ensure there is a higher standard of security professional. 70% of people who have been in the industry for many years are failing the new Top Up training according to the SIA compliance inspectors. This isn't a bad thing because it removes the elements in the industry who where never competent to begin with and knowing your current Operatives are within the 30% who have achieved the new qualification should give you peace of mind.
